PRIVATE SPACE FOR THE MUSIC OF BACH

Zaha Hadid’s arrchitectural office has copleted the unique chamber hall, especiallu designed for the music of Johan Sebastian Bach. The concept was to create a small, sacred place of fine acoustics. It is achieved through a spiral, twisting around the stage and the audience. The spiral is made of translucent membrane pulled ever a steel framework, which hangs from the ceiling. Tightly stretched on the outer side of the spiral, the membrane creates mild and undulating effect below its inner side. Above the stage hang acoustic panels to reflect and disperse sound. The membrane itself absorbs sound vibrations and moves In a constant and alternating rhythm. In this way the spiral intensifies the acoustic rapture during a concert.

Prallel to that there is a visual delusion that the spiral floats into the hall and invites you to experience the music of Bach.

The main hall way.
As you can see the design is really modern.
White oval elements are implemented in the design.
All the elements, used for the construction are syncronized with the acoustics of the hall.
Seats.
A look towards the auditory’s seats.
Black and white are the most used colors.
The most used colors in the design are black and white.
Everything is designed in perfect ballance.
The contrast of the colors of the hall corresponds with the emotion in Bach’s mucic.
The Grand piano is the major music instrument.
Bach’s music sound better on Steinway and Sons.
