Have you also got items at home that take up a lot of storage space, like camping gear, big boots, and old books? And you probably do not know what to do with them!

If you are an organization freak, items like these must have tested your patience now. However, there are some genius ways to tackle this problem. By planning wisely, you can efficiently deal with hard-to-store items at home.

So are you ready to take on this challenge? For your ease, here are eight creative organizing ideas to consider right away.

1- Build a storage drawer under the bed:

Nowadays, most of the bed sets come with extra storage space. Drawers are usually placed under the bed to dump unwanted stuff. If you do not have such a bed, why not build one? It is a simple hack, which will hardly take more than 30 minutes. All you need to do is buy two or three drawers from your local store and place them under the bed. If you are unable to find drawers, invest in storage boxes as they will work fine too. This simple DIY project will sort most of your storage-related issues.

2- Look into some self-storage options:

Self-storage is yet another ideal way to store those tough belongings. It would be best to do your homework beforehand and analyze nearby self-storage options. If you reside in Texas, check out prosper self storage units to store your stuff. The best part about storage units is that they come in different sizes and rates. In this way, you can easily rent out a storage space that falls under your budget with enough space to store everything.

3- Large size zip lock bags:

Investing in zip lock bags will make your life so much easier. They are pretty affordable and readily available in different stores. Try to buy extra-large size bags so you can store out-of-season clothes, shoes, and other stuff without tearing them apart. Also, push out all the air from the bags before sealing them. By doing so, your bags will fit easily in your storeroom or wherever you will keep them.

4- Add-on rods to increase your closet space:

Only a few people can confess to having enough closet space to store all of their clothes. You might fall in the other group, i.e., people who always run out of closet space. For people like you, an ideal solution is to buy add-on rods to hang clothes. You can fasten these rods to the clothes rods in your closet and double your storage capacity. These rods will help you in sorting the kid’s wardrobe as well. Isn’t that wonderful?

5- Corner shelves around the house:

You must have come across the idea of increasing storage space by putting up shelves around the corners. This trick does wonder in organizing the kitchen stuff. You probably have lots of shelves around the house, but why not utilize the house corners too? You will get the chance to build sturdy corner shelves, which will also look pleasant to the eyes. Moreover, it is a fast and affordable solution for all kinds of households. You can store smaller items like waxes, glues, oil, polishes, which are difficult to find on larger shelves.

6- Transforming the basement:

Everyone has extra luggage, giant umbrellas, winter jackets, and camping gear lying around the house. Believe it or not, storing things like these is super frustrating. One optimal solution for this problem is utilizing the basement downstairs! You must be thinking why I haven’t thought about this. Well, now you know what to do. To keep everything organized properly, find some big storage bags and fill them up with everything you do not need at the moment. Other than that, you can also add some shelves in your basement to store the rest of your stuff. By making the most out of your basement, you will declutter your house as well.

7- Two-in-one shelves:

Are you unable to organize your workshop or garage? Well, invest in some heavy-duty shelf brackets. They perform two duties at once and can come in super handy. A two-in-one shelf includes a sturdy base to hold heavy items and hooks to store the remaining items. You can easily bend these hooks to place cords or long tools that may not fit on your shelves. Such shelves will save space in your garage, and everything will look more organized.

8- Racks behind the doors:

This storage hack is a classic one, and you should take advantage of it! Just grab some racks from a local store and install them behind different doors. Placing them behind the doors is a good idea, where you can hang miscellaneous items. Instead of tossing a towel on the bed, hang it on the racks. These racks are also great to dry wet mittens and hats. This easy technique will further assist in keeping track of little things that may get lost otherwise.

The Bottom Line:

By religiously following these organizing ideas, all of your worries will fade away. So do not hesitate to check these out as soon as possible! Not only are these ideas convenient to try, but light on the pocket too. Therefore, go ahead and give it a shot!
