Since I was a child I was always been in love with the natural fibers. I still remember the feeling when I was excited about top or dress from linen or cotton, and the reaction of my mom when she saw on the label “iron after washing”. Then she started to look me with this craziness in the eyes and said that she will not ironed them for me and I only could have it if I ironed it on my own. I was so terrified and I dropped the item very quickly. I was so scared from the way she said iron so I wasn’t able to reply.
Since then I every day had dreams about how a prisoners or slaves are tortured with an iron, on an ironing board and bunch of wrinkled clothes. Because of my mother antipathy to the iron I avoided everything that get wrinkled. Now as an adult I am no longer afraid of ironing I am actually embrace it. I found very enjoying the process when you get something wrinkled and then seeing it smooth as silk when the iron’s steam clear it.
I started my love with the natural fibers again and the fabric that I love the most is linen. As my favorite fabric, the linen is everywhere in my home. There is something unique about it. That’s why I started to sew beddings, sheets, slipcovers, which I use during the summer. You will say why especially in the summer? The answer is that it is cool to the touch. I am sure that you will share my love to this fabric when you see several products that I found and they are all made by real linen.
As I live in Texas, the summer nights are very heated and it is very hard to sleep but now when I use linen sheets, they give me one cooler touch and I found it easier to fall asleep.
My idea of luxury is to be curled up under a linen-covered duvet and when I add a great book, I feel like I am in heaven.
