Small kitchen with extravagant design
Dynamics and functionality in the dimension X
Everybody knows that small kitchens are common in modern constructions and architecture, especially in overcrowded cities, right? And logically, these few square foots can be defined as areas of the dimension X-how to plan every detail in them so that the functionality would not be at the expense of modern luxury interior design trends?! Everybody searches for the answer of this problem according to his taste and opportunities, but the kitchen that we present is an excellent example for reconciliation of all functions in it in modern frames.
It’s true that the spacious living areas are wonderful basis for developing of interesting design ideas but how this can happen in a small space? We will show you this very interesting project of the designers from the Russian studio Geometrix Design. The owners-young family in Moscow, hardly could imagine what would be the result, but ParametriX (as designers call their project) is unique.
The brave approach to the construction of the interior design of the kitchen is based on the dynamic forms and a combination of natural wood, glass and decorative bricks. While the materials are traditional in any kitchen interior, here their combination is surprising. Wooden elements placed as panels at the walls and ceiling resemble in modern sculptural forms. Black glass panels on the table and the kitchen breakfast bar emit cool elegance, softened by the presence of warm wood. Decorative bricks are a lightweight reference to modern urban style, but the main focus of the room is undoubtedly the mirror panel with futuristic design on the wall. Stylish modern furniture together with the build in kitchen appliances are in strict geometric shapes, but all these elements are changing when colorful LED lighting enters the room

According of the mood and wishes of the owners, the kitchen shines in different colors – this special lighting gives the original character of the room. The dining area is organized next to the window by placing a bench with many soft pillows where all guest would feel more comfortable. The table with unusual shape doesn’t take to much from the space.And instead of traditional dining chairs, here are used bar stools with lightweight construction. On the ceiling is mounted a special cup holder in order to be at hand in case some guests suddenly appear. Probably you will ask how to clean dust from the embossed wood finishes, but surely there is a way, and these small inconveniences are worth the labor for the background of the remarkable interior of the small kitchen. For skeptics who do not believe that any original idea finally can became reality, we will share that the project is completely realized.
