Chandeliers have double function. They illuminate the room where they are located as well as thy can function as a decorative accent there. I have never seen more perfect and attractive accent in a traditional or classic dining or living room than a huge, elegant and shiny crystal chandelier. It’s like the universal spice for traditional meals.

Contemporary Chandeliers for Dining Room
When you place your light fixtures in the dining room, you need to know that they need to provide enough illumination since the dining room is actively used. You have to measure the plot of the room as well as the volume and the height of the ceiling. Then, you can easily decide what chandelier will perfectly suit above your table. And yes, the most suitable placement is above the table and if you can have them both situated in the very middle of the room, this will be great!
For the dining room interior, I prefer chandeliers that are not so heavy but they have more traditional and elegant shapes.
Contemporary Chandeliers for Living Room
As for the living room, it is a place where we do not have so much activity like in the dining room. This is the place where we can watch TV or chat with family members or friends, and also it is the place where we can have a nap or just sit and relax with a glass of fine whiskey. This is why the light coming from the chandelier doesn’t need to be sparkling. It can be a little bit dimmer than in the living room, for example.
For the living room, I like really heavy and impressive chandeliers as well as small decorative additional floor lamps that can complete the cozy feel in the atmosphere.
