University of Duesto with Renewed Interior Design

We would like to present one of the most impressive peaces of design artworks that have been done recently in the field of educational buildings architecture and interior design. This is the University of Deusto. The managent of the university prepared a development plan that had to be executed within 2011-2014 in order to provide society a more comfortable and inspirational study environment.

There was an competition and ACXT won it. Actually, the studio finished its work earlier than the deadline. An now, in 2013 the project is completely done.

The architect of the original construction, built in 1886 was Francisco de Cubas. Actually, the building brings the spirit of late 19 century’s architecture at its fines. The aim of the current project, taken by ACXT was to keep the spaciousness inside and the overall look of the facade.

We have to admit that the final result was not so different form the main idea established by Francisco de Cubas. One of the major changes is that in the interior. Almost all of the furniture has been replaced. Some modern elements were introduced in the design. This builds a kind of modern feeling when you are inside of the lecture rooms. The university needed that update.

To be more precise, the project was not about reconstruction, but more about renovation of the place. And it turned out to be a successful one!
