Moving into a new home means you will likely want to do a serious redesign of the place, down to the kitchen and other areas around it. The kitchen is one of the most important rooms around the house, as it is literally a focal point for much of the house chores we have. We need to be able to juggle the needs of aesthetics and practicality in equal measure when it comes to designs, as kitchen cleaning is no easy task. There are also great challenges with oven cleaning if you do cooking often enough and that is only a step in keeping your house clean, so the design has to be sleek, but also easy to deal with after you’re done cooking. The following tips will provide you with more knowledge about useful design that blends both together into a great solution:
Glass
To begin with, this is an excellent, easy to clean solution and minimalist solution that allows to be used in a number of ways. Whether its shelving, countertops or cabinets is irrelevant, the greatest thing about it is that it can be cleaned very easily and it will last a long time, barring the occasional impact of something heavy.
Wood
When you really need to have a well-decorated but sturdy kitchen, then wood will be the traditional material to use. The choice of darker wood such as cherry or maple can really change the looks of the typical design. Ash or oak offer a lighter variety of colors, allowing it to fit in with equally light color schemes even when its only lacquered and not painted.
Metal
Stainless steel is a common solution for more contemporary styled kitchens, which can be used for a variety of objects ranging from appliances to furniture and other elements of the kitchen. If you believe steel is a far too cold solution for your kitchen, then you can always switch to something more welcoming and pleasant such as the warm tones of brass and copper.
Marble and Granite
These two are excellent solutions for kitchen design and countertops, as they can easily fit within most designs. Coming in many variations of colors and designs, they can change the look for your kitchen to a great extent.
Using lights
When you want to have the perfect kitchen, then you will need to have good lighting if you want to keep it that way. Recessed lights will help keep things subtle, yet good-looking as well. If you really don’t want to have those, then you will need to stick to traditional lights made of metal and glass, as long as they fit in with the rest of the room’s mood.
Picking the right colors
Keeping things with the cool range of colors is one way of sticking to a more contemporary design feel, but you would do well to bring some warmth into the kitchen if you want to stay away from that particular look. Green, orange, red and yellow are wonderful ways to create a more welcoming environment.
