Dewalt 779 vs 780 – the differences

LED light

The 779 does not have LED light but instead, is fitted with a blade positioning indicator that clearly shows where the blade is going to pass. Bevel cuts

The Dewalt 780 comes with a bevel cut of 48 degrees both to the right and left. Similarly, the 779 also has a bevel cut of 48 degrees on both sides. However, this saw makes 2 by 16 inch lumber at 90 degrees and 2 by 12 inch lumber at 45 degrees. This is important as it enables you to complete different projects that you have with ease. 

Miter cut

The 780 comes with a miter cut of 50 degrees to the right and 60 degrees to the left. In addition, the 779 is able to make miter cuts of 60 degrees to the right and 50 degrees to the left. This makes the tool more versatile. 

Rail lock system

Another feature that shows the differences between the 779 and 780 is the rail lock mechanism. On its part, The 780 comes with a rail latch system for improving vertical cuts.  The 779 on the other hand has an innovative clamping mechanism that results in accurate cuts on wood.
