5 Budget Friendly House Staging Ideas

Posted by: Founterior , December 30, 2020

Selling your home during a pandemic isn’t an easy feat; make sure you get the help of a great agent to take the pressure off of you. What you can do to help your house sell faster is to make sure it is staged perfectly. House staging doesn’t have to cost the earth, in these crazy times we need to save money wherever we can. Here are 5 house staging ideas that will have the impact you need to make the sale, without breaking the bank.

1, Put Away The Personal Pieces

We know you love your family; you don’t need to keep 40 framed photographs on display to prove that. It is important for your potential buyers to be able to imagine themselves with their families in your home. Put away the personal items during the staging, this includes family photos, drawings from your children and any other personal trinkets that don’t add design value to the overall space. Once you’ve de-cluttered your home you can clean and sanitize it properly, everyone loves a clean house – especially now.

2, Give Purpose To Your Spaces

It is important to not have a boring empty room on display. If you have a spare room, convert it into a guest room, home office or even a kid’s bedroom. You need to adequately display the purpose of each space to your buyers. This is especially true if you are trying to sell a house for cash, your potential buyers will want to see your home in action.

3, Create Curb Appeal On A Budget

You don’t need to spend an arm and a leg on giving your home great curb appeal. The most important thing to do is to make sure your lawn is mowed and tidy and your top soil is topped up. Add an inexpensive new rug under your patio furniture or repaint your deck – these simple things are so impactful and won’t totally kill your credit card.

4, The Nose Knows

The cheapest way to get your buyers to love your home is to whip up a batch of chocolate chip cookies right before the viewings begin. There is very little in this world that smells as good as a batch of fresh cookies does and you can make them for under $10. It doesn’t get much cheaper than that! For the most part all it requires is a bit of elbow grease from you – if you don’t want to bake then buy a lovely scented candle to add that little bit of extra nose love to the room.

5, Make The Simple Swaps

Make sure you give your home the best chance of selling as humanly possible. Use the items you have on hand before you run out and buy new things just for the staging. Change out your everyday towels with your fancier guest towels, fluff up your decorative pillows and wash your linen. If you have the time and energy, move your furniture around so it best utilises the space of the room it’s in. Once you’ve removed your personal items from step 1, you’ll have a lot more space to work with to do this.
