It can be casual from a food truck or fine dining, so you can find a place that suits the mood for any night.

2. Football

Anyone down South knows that football is life. They have the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL who are affectionately known as “America’s Team”. They have a long history of success, even if they haven’t been holding up to their legacy lately. College football is just as important in Texas. There is also a large Mexican population with them being right on the other side of the border. It’s a unique culture that you can’t find anywhere else in the country.

The country scene in Texas is epic. You can find live country performances across the state on any given weekend night. Many times, they’ll be playing outside in the warm weather.

There’s also a strong Tejano music scene. This is a special brand of Mexican music from Texas. To this day, people still remember the beautiful Tejano singer Selena who was taken from us too early.

7. Camaraderie

When you move to Texas, you become part of a community. The people are so close that it starts to feel like a big family. The people smile at each other as they walk down the road.
