Corinne Kowal faced her first problem when she had to make changes in the interior of the place, having in mind that is a rented one and any painting was not allowed. But when you have the idea in your mind and when you know that some online shops will help you create your idea, any problems disappear. She decided that she’d better use color accents in furniture than in walls, for example. Her inspiration brought French classic style, retro vintage and art deco together, thus making the interior absolutely Eclectic.
The location of this fantastic eclectic apartment is Brussels, Belgium, Europe. The three story place brings a feeling of living in a house, but it is an apartment actually. A place full of space and light and clever interior solutions. It has everything in it. Spacious living areas, sweet dining room, relaxing and tranquil bedrooms and inspiring kitchen.
Corinne’s greatest inspiration is the designs made by French company called Mis en Demeure. Of course, other elements like wood veneer patterns, widely used in the art deco style, also contribute to forming a designer point of view.
The homeowners like to drink coffee, to read books and to relax in their home. Their lifestyle had to be reflected by the interior. Wise choice was to use purple and red nuances for some of the sitting furniture, bought from the local feel market. Corinne acted like a magician. She decided to buy an old bistro table that with little effort she turned into a stylish interior element. The old and rusty surface she sprayed with matted gray. An for the top, she placed a well chosen pine top, instead of the worn out plastic one.
Above the buffet you can see a beautiful art deco mirror. It has been found on eBay after several hours spent browsing the biggest online shop. Corinne made a magical trick again. She transformed the original state of the mirror and made it look old-aged. Now, it is more authentic than before.
Bamboo countertops and bar stools in contemporary style, combined with MDF cupboards, form the modern and stylish outlook of the kitchen interior. The function of this cooking is to act like a style contrast with the rest of the nonmodern furniture .
Another smart decision was to look for a buffet in eBay again. Corinne found an unique one with marble surface. This element is like the perfect addition to Claude Lorrain’s paintings from the 17th century and a drawing by Les Petits Riens. Engraving form the 18th century fulfill the classic appeal of this corner of the place.
Another Syrian founding is the Shiraz floor rug. It has been chosen in a sincere conversation in of the carpet shops in the city of Aleppo. As an element brought from abroad it keeps the sweet memories of the fantastic journey to the ancient country.
When we are talking to simple, stylish and contemporary furnishing we can’t miss to mention the name of IKEA. The two side tables are brought from there and match the interior perfectly.
Because the homeowners wanted to leave their own traces in the place, they put oak floors and decided to change the lighting. The result is a warmer feeling in the interior of the home, despite the dark color of the oak, and a place full of light.
