The lovely couple that inhabits this gorgeous loft is Matt and Josee Davis. When they had to think about the style they wanted to transform their home into, they came upon the decision that it definitely should be in eclectic apartment interior design style because they believed it would make them happy in their own love nest. And they were right.
Situated in Vancouver, Canada, the attractive loft impresses with its 1 095 square feet living area. It consists of 1 bedroom and bathroom, living areas with kitchen, dining and living rooms, and a rooftop patio. They couldn’t imagine that such an urban area could be so calm in quiet – another advantage of the location. Inside the loft, one can immediately enjoy the double-height ceilings and the spaciousness they provide.
A view from above reveals the lovely Chica lounging that complements the amazing atmosphere, created by an authentic Mason & Hamlin grand. The piano originally belongs to Josee’s grandmother but she bequeathed it to her granddaughter a long time ago. Such kind of old belongings are always very precious with their presence in the interior!
A great decision in the interior was to paint the backdrop in black color. This way it completes the dark nuances coming from the piano as a focal point. A 1967 Italian glass table is another great piece that has been preserver till nowadays. We should not forget to mention the beautiful marble table lamp that has been designed by Castiglioni brothers.
What should stand better on a piano than a Beethoven’s little statue. It inspires. It provokes. And it reminds of the fantastic composer that left his treasure waiting to be played on the lovely piano in a pleasant night when the moon comes out with its brilliance and the mood around the grand is lifted up by a glass of rich in taste Chilean red wine. And being in an eclectic home wouldn’t surprise us when we see classic items combined with a dreamcatcher by Jessica Joan Delorme, for example.
When the need of organizing all the books and magazines knocked at the couple’s door, they decided that they should use Expedit shelving. In order to separate the dining room form the living areas, they used a clever, cheap and effective solution – they used the shelving as a room divider.
What grabs the attention at first sight when seeing the bedroom is the fantastic artwork by Jessica Joan Delorme. It is a kind of abstract art that fits very well in the eclectic environment in the place. And being in bright colors it functions as a counterpoint to the natural and pale hues of the walls and textiles used in the bedroom. It somehow has a little bit of vintage charm and this is because of the playful pillows.
Taking the look to the opposite wall we observe a classic Parentesilamp which highlights the gallery wall. It has been exhibited at MoMA at New York. It is very flexible and can be adjusted in height according to the room proportions. The gorgeous decorative collection on the wall takes the imagination to a different realm, somewhere in the artful depths of someone’s mind.
Good and very successful combination in the interior is the match between the dining table and the chairs. They look so individual because of their specific appearance that put the accent on them, no matter that they are in darker tones. As for the pendant lamp, we must say that a lot of creativity has been applied here. It is made of lots of love notes in different languages.
In this part of the house you can almost feel the minimalist appeal of the low-in-height chest of drawers. A vintage illustration breaks the sterile environment and ads a cozy accent in it.
A colorful collection of prints and other types of art can be found at the staircase leading to the second floor. The couple loves to rearrange the composition in order to keep the things fresh.
A beautiful ambient light brings the right mood in the night and lightens the way to the bedroom. And as all of us know, having the right mood for the night is essential for the most amazing experiences on our lives…
One of the portraits on the staircase wall makes us a deep impression. It is the dog Chica’s picture that stands out from the crowd and brings a sweet touch in the atmosphere. Chica is the homeowner’s dog.
Josee is an interesting person. She has various talents and hobbies which she devotes herself to. She is a music teacher while being a makeup artist at the same time. Her another inspiration is making perfumes, so her loft apartment turned out to be the ideal place for inventing new scents. When our team asked her, what is her favorite scent, she asked that this would be the Netherlands. And this strange answer can be explained by her theory that every place she had ever visited in her life is associated with a certain smell. In this particular case, this are lavender, olibanum, oak moss and black agar.
A gorgeous IKEA lamps shines in the fantastic eclectic interior.
In a hot summer day you will usually find the couple in their beautiful family home sitting at the outdoor patio relaxing and smiling to each other, living the dream of a good life.
