Small Apartment Ideas for Better Urban Living

If you want to challenge yourself try decorating or making the interior design of a small apartment. Why is this so? Well, one of the main reasons is that they usually have very limited amount of space. On the other hand, there are many things that nowadays people need for their normal everyday live. Thus, the interior designers face one of the biggest problems with small spaces – how to get all the stuff in so tiny areas?

Of course, this is not impossible! There many functional ideas that can be applied so that there’s nothing missing in the interior. To begin with, I would like to outline one of the major features of tiny apartments – this is the combination of different areas into one single multifunctional room. There is situated the kitchen, a small corner is dedicated as a dining area and the living room quickly becomes a bedroom when the comfortable small sofa is unfolded to a single bed.

What can be done for the sleeping area? Well, there are two options – the one with the sofa that I have already described and the other one is using wall or murphy beds. They are great because they are very functional since they can simply be put away on the wall thus freeing a lot of space that can be used in the time when occupants don’t sleep.

What can be done in the kitchen? There are many practical small kitchens that have everything in them – cupboards, cabinets, storage drawers, small ovens and sinks, coffee machines and fridges as well as built-in washing machines. Everything should be compact and functional!

What can be done in the living room? I have seen an amazing ideas, maybe 3 or 4 days ago. It was about a small coffee table that’s been used in front of a small coffee and both of them were oriented towards a flat TV screen placed on the wall. The amazing thing was that the tiny little coffee table had an option to be uncovered by the top and then several small stools could be taken out from it. This was a great option in case the occupants had guests and the sofa were not enough. Needless to say, when packed again, the coffee table and stools didn’t took more space than a small circle.
