Restaurant Design Ideas to Inspire Your Inner Restaurateur

Posted by: Founterior , June 20, 2019

You are finally making your dreams of becoming a restaurateur a reality, and you’re opening or upgrading your restaurant. There are so many design concepts on the market right now, it is hard to choose just one. You can match your chef whites with anything, so why not go crazy and compliment your restaurant atmosphere with inspiring design ideas? Here are a few suggestions to inspire you.

Keep it simple

There is nothing louder than a restaurant that has various design concepts in one area. Sometimes the restaurant design looks so busy that customers wonder what the concept of the décor actually is. To keep from crashing design concepts into each other, you should stick with one simple concept that will keep the focus on your food and not your décor. Not only simple decor but a simple restaurant logo design also plays an important role in making your restaurant inspiring.

Of course, you can enhance any concept with custom canvas prints and really let your creative juices flow on the canvas! Just be sure to pick one unified theme for your restaurant and stick with it. If you have a bar, you may want to hang beverage signage and sports memorabilia to attract customers. If you’re going for a more elegant look, a simple warehouse design with elegant garnishes may be more appealing to your customer base. Ensure that you’re not making your design concepts look busy, and you are bound to attract more appeal.

Use typography

The use of typography has become the trend with small bistros and quick bite restaurants. Typography grasps your audience by using various styles and types of fonts as well as various sizes of lettering. If you really want to highlight your main dish, it can be done in lights by using typography. Use marquee letters in bold type as well as diagrams and charts to make your typography vision come alive. You can even use drawings with wording inside of the drawing to accent your design concept and give your customers something to post on their social media! Who doesn’t like free advertising? It is almost a guarantee that a beautiful typography piece on your accent wall will grasp the attention of social media instantly.

Open concepts

Kitchens are no longer the well kept secret of a restaurant. In fact, many up-and-coming Canadian restaurants are using the concept of seeing the kitchen as a part of their décor. This is appealing to the customers because they get to see the masterpieces coming out of the kitchen before they are set, and they get the peace of mind knowing that chefs aren’t hiding anything from them. Kitchen appliances costs upwards of thousands of dollars, so why not show them off? Sometimes just walking by something will entice a person to want to try it for themselves. Keep your kitchen flowing and open it to your customers. It may look even better than you expected.

Even in the coldest parts of Canada, there is no better place to warm your soul than in a comforting restaurant with a warm feel. With the right design concept, this feeling can be achieved in any type of restaurant setting. Once you’ve chosen your theme, ensure you choose the best layout for your restaurant. If an open concept isn’t going to fit in well with your theme, hide the kitchen and place simple décor around the dining area that will bring comfort to your customers. Customers want to feel the environment that reflects the menu, and once you’ve come up with your menu it may be easier for you to come up with a design concept. Do what works best for you, keep your design simple, and compliment your scene with custom canvas prints and you can never go wrong!
