That’s why today I would like to feature one of the most exciting way to bring interesting accents in your home interior design. We are going to talk about glass figurines today and how they fit in the modern house or flat.
So, let’s have a quick look at some of the most attractive glass figurines that can be found on the market these days and you will know if some of the exhibits are just for your place.
What are glass figurines
Many people think that any glass decorative object can be determined as a glass figurine. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. We call figurines only small, moderate or giant glass sculptures that display a human figure, a God or Goddess, or an animal. Only this certain types of glass sculptures can be defined as glass figurines.
Glass figurines – where to place them?
We have discussed this interesting question with one of our professional interior decorators and she told us that it all depends on the size. The smaller examples fit perfectly well on the fireplace mantel or on a wall shelf alongside with other decorative items. Having the talk I remembered that I have seen a glass figurine of a beautiful ballerina that was placed in a friends of mine’s house, on the kitchen countertop at the bar.
Larger sculptures should be either placed directly on the floor, or if need to lift it up a little bit from the ground level, you can make a special construction for it. The construction can be mounted to the wall or it can be build at the floor. You remember this kind of small stages or platforms specially designed for hosting decorative accents, don’t you? A pedestal is also an option for displaying larger objects.
What interiors design styles are appropriate or glass figurines?
To be honest – it all depends on your other decorative accents. In fact, the small glass decorations can fit into almost every type of interior. I really like this type of traditional or classic interiors with classy and expensive type of glass statuettes. Furthermore, I have seen many examples of modern, minimalist or futuristic type of interiors that accommodate in a fantastic way abstract pieces of glass figurines. Just use opposite colors in order to create a visual distinguishment between the decor and the main colorful scheme in the room and the results are devastating!
