Schoolyard Playground
The school courtyard is a place where students and parents gather during daytime. It is the place most preferred by the students because they escape their daily routine by playing games and spending time with each other. On the other hand, parents who are coming to meet their children and pick them up after the classes are staying in the courtyard, waiting for them. The aim was clear. The school management had to built a special place for that.
With its 33 meters width and 35 meters length the square form of the yard faces south east. A great move was to built the courtyard in the summer. This is the time when students are not attending school and the constructional works could be finished in time for the autumn beginning of classes.
Another smart approach was to use the removed trees from the yard for decoration in the newly built sports facility. Nature has been brought into the atmosphere of the playground thus providing a sense of tranquility and a lot of fresh air also. In future we expect that plants will conquer the building and when maintained, of course, they will give the appearance of an unique and memorable place where both children and adults like to spend their time in.
The ground level has a something like garden-bench that consists of different plant species. Visitors are allowed to observe them and have some nice and relaxing time there. 45-meter ramp connects the ground level with the second one and the court that is on the top.
It seemed that the project succeeded, because all the children simply loved it. Now, they spend hours and hours in their newly designed sports facilities, playing all kind of games. The construction is suitable for all ages and that makes it the best place where little ones can play together with their elderly fellows.
