The summer season can be quite hot In Denver. To keep your household temperatures cool, you need an air conditioning system and when it comes to air conditioning, there are plenty of options to consider and one of the effective air conditioning options is an Evaporative Cooler.

What is an Evaporative Cooler?

Also known as a swamp cooler, desert cooler or wet air cooler, Evaporative cooler is an air conditioning device that cools the household air through evaporation of moisture. However, unlike typical air conditioner systems, which use vapor-compression or absorption refrigeration cycles to cool the air.

The cooler works on the principle of enthalpy of vaporization, meaning that it cools the indoor living space through evaporation of water. A perfect analogy that represents the cooler is a human body. The cooler lowers the indoor temperatures by evaporating water similar to the way a human body cools itself by sweating.

The heat from the warm, dry air is absorbed by the evaporating water which results in cooler air with a higher moisture content.

Benefits of Swamp Cooler Installation

Among the many benefits of installing the cooler, includes the fact that the conditioner is available in a gamut of sizes, colors, and designs. Additionally, their initial purchase, as well as installation, is generally lower than most of the cooling systems.

Evaporative coolers cost only one-tenth to one-fourth as much to operate as refrigeration air conditioning and use much less energy than refrigeration.

Unlike the central air conditioning systems that recirculate the same air, swamp coolers have the benefit of providing a stream of fresh air into the house. In extremely dry climates with low humidity, a swamp cooler conditions, indoor air with more moisture for the comfort of your occupants.

Finally, the coolers are low maintenance devices, and since they’re not connected to a gas furnace for air circulation, they don’t pose a CO poisoning risk and are associated with lower operational costs.

Evaporative Coolers Installation

There are two main methods which Denver Evaporative Cooler Installation is conducted.

The first involves connecting the swamp cooler to a system of air ducts through which cool air is distributed to the different rooms in your home. The second installation entails installing your cooler such that it blows air directly into a central location in the room.

Ducted Systems

Are ideal for a larger house with hallways and multiple rooms while the central-location installations work well for compact houses or individual rooms within the house.

The cooler can be installed on your ceiling or ground-mounted. Small horizontal-flow coolers are installed in windows to cool a room or section of your house while most homeowners install the down-flow coolers on the roofs of their homes.

Installing ground-mounted horizontal units is recommended as they’re easy to maintain and pose less risk of roof leaks. Another rare type of connection is the small portable coolers, which can be installed in windows.

The portable types increase convenience and save your cooling costs for small spaces. Also, they are ideal if you’re renting your house or apartment and don’t have the option of connecting a system that requires structural changes.

Choosing the Right Swamp Cooler Installation Contractor

Installing a cooler is not a DIY project. If you’re thinking of installing an evaporative cooler, you should realize that the choice of a contractor can determine how best you enjoy your investment.

A poorly installed cooling system will not only cost you in the future due to maintenance and repairs, but it may also pose safety hazards and may compromise your comfort In your home. Therefore, to get the best installation services ensure that you go for an experienced, professional, accredited and insured contractor.
