Office of Google
The marvelous 8000 square metres office of Google opened its doors in Tel Aviv at the end of December 2012. This is the new home for the army of engineer, sales managers and marketing specialists. The Swiss Design Team Camenzind Evolution was assigned with the difficult task to make the project for the office. It was done in collaboration with Israeli Design Teams Setter Architects and Studio Yaron Ta. The result is eight floors fantastic office in one of the most attractive buildings in Tel Aviv – the Electra Tower. This means only one thing – the unbelievable scenery towards seas and the whole capital of Israel.
This is a new achievement of Google in the field of innovative thinking. Their brief to the agency included the task that almost 50% of the spaces had to be created in order to form one extremely communicative environment that had to give unlimited opportunities to Google’s employees. In the new and modern working space the old and boring working desks are history. Instead, new communication rich areas are the new way to work and develop one’s self. Of course, privacy is provided for the moments when one needs to focus and do some individual work.
Each of the floors contains different parts of Israeli tradition and culture. The themes were chosen by a group of Googlers that had not only to pick a certain theme, but their task was also to describe it – what does it mean. One of the most pleasant activities for the day is to have lunch in Israel, especially in the new Google Office. The choice includes three different restaurants – non-kosher, kosher dairy and kosher meat. Each of them is specialized in different style of traditional cuisine.
Actually not all the 8 floors are used for working space. The last floor was reserved for a new Campus that was opened by the Israeli Prime Minister. It is a place for entrepreneurs and developers, which is under Google’s hat. The goal is simple – to provide the best environment for start-ups. Furthermore, the office is taking awaiting LEED ‘Platinum’ certification – one of the most prestigious awards. Actually it is the first one to be granted in Israel.
