Luxury House,San Francisco

Candace Barnes, a famous San Francisco designer renovated this Haight-Asbhury neighborhood house for her family. Being an antique dealer she managed to use some of her best exhibits in order to create a timeless an traditional interior design for her luxury home. Furthermore, the 18th century architecture of the house completes the atmosphere created by the antiques and turns this place into one fantastic classical and luxury place where the homeowners can live their fairy tale.

What Barnes did was to allow more sun light to enter the room. She replaced the old and dusty windows with new ones in a classy European style. Of course, the remodeling didn’t stop here. Barnes realized that only placing bigger windows wont be enough to fulfill the place with shining brilliance. She decided to put Indian and Syrian mirrors on very specific places, so that the interior of the home would be full of light, almost taking the place to another, divine level.

Floors in pale gray oak as well as the color tones of the walls, ceilings and furniture are synchronized with the usual state of the weather nearby. Because most of the time it is foggy, Barnes decided to use such kind of colors here. On the other hand, this move doesn’t take one’s attention away from the sunny and welcoming interior. It only represents a little part of Ashbury Heights life.

Luxury at its finest – this is how we can describe the whole interior and the kitchen is not an exception. Contrast dark colors are well used in order to create visual separation and to catch the attention. When changing the cabinets above the sink, Barnes preferred to use smaller than the original ones in order to provide more space in the kitchen.
