Maximize Storage without Sacrificing Style

Whether you are a bustling family or a fresh college graduate in a studio apartment, every home need optimal storage solutions.

Maximizing space and storage make a home feel welcoming and spacious. If you have been questioning how to maximize storage without sacrificing style, we can help.

There are a few tricks to make this possible – and you will not have to downsize to do it.

Live in the Living Room

A family room or living room can become messy in an instant. It has the most traffic from family time to visitors or simply lounging with a good book. You want to create a space that you can live in – which means finding a way to store things where you can easily find them but not trip over them. A great way to do this is to store belongings in furniture or existing spaces in the room.

A TV stand can obviously hold the TV but also store books, movies, video games accessories, and more. Multifunctional storage such as ottomans or coffee tables with drawers and storage also help with this task. The hidden space is necessary when people come to visit – they will never know just how many old magazines you have!

Enter on the Right Note

The entryway is the first space that welcomes a guest to your home and greets you at the end of a long day. This area should be functional and easy to navigate.

A bench with storage is a great place to sit and remove shoes while having a place to leave them. It can also be a holding area for backpacks or other things you need as you leave the house. No room for a bench? Wall-mounted hooks, open shelving, or a large mirror can be great entryway additions that help you enter on the right note.

Storage within Storage

The kitchen is another busy space in your home. It is a place where you will decompress with your family, cook, bake, hide snacks, and build memories. With that in mind, it also has to be well-stocked and well organized so you can find what you need.

Maximize storage within your built-in cabinets with vertical storage solutions. You can also use drawer organizers and clear food storage containers for visibility and organization.

Throw it out

Now, we said you would not have to downsize to maximize space, but let’s be real for a second. The bathroom becomes the home for odds and ends and bottles with “just a little bit” of a substance left in it.

Bathrooms are notorious for having the worst storage habits – so assess what is in there and why. Do you need that bottle of shampoo, or has it lived its life? How many hotel body washes do you really need? Some great storage options are open shelving or baskets under the sink to keep everything sorted. You can also tuck away beauty appliances instead of leaving them strewn on counters.

Bedroom Escape

Your bedroom is the place you start and end your day, so if it is always messy, you may be continually stressed by it. Your bedroom should be an escape and an oasis so you can awake rejuvenated each day. Maximize storage by organizing your closet. Do not be afraid to take out-of-season clothes out of the closet and use closet organizers to separate by item, shoes, accessories, and more. The bedroom (and especially the closet) and always benefit with a functional facelift.

Be Creative

The above are just a few areas of the home where you can maximize storage without extreme downsizing. Everyone is different, but there is a variety of options available! Whether you have a large family or just a habit of accruing material possessions. A stepping-stone to a lifetime of organization and storage solutions is there for the taking.
