Modern and Contemporary TV Racks

Posted by: Founterior , April 7, 2015

Today’s inspiration comes from our professional interior designer Adam Smith. He is a person that likes one particular type of rooms – living rooms. And now, he is going to give us some valuable tips how to change the decor in them using TV stands.
Mr. Smith told us that one of the most important things before buying TV stands is to carefully select the style – the stands can be modern, contemporary, classic, traditional or futurist and minimalist. The easiest thing to do is to have in mind the rest of your house. If you live in one of those huge traditional type of houses in the American neighborhoods – then classic and traditional examples are just the perfect solution. On the other hand, living in a flat or a loft in the urban populated city areas requires selecting the modern and contemporary types.
Let’s have a quick look at this collection of modern and contemporary stands that Mr. Smith have selected for you, our readers.

Modern and Contemporary Stands

Have a look at the images below. You will find that all modern TV stands have something in common. Then do not have a lot of shelves for storing additional items. This is because modern requires simplicity. Clean and elegant lines created out of metal, glass and wood. These are the most preferred materials that designers use these days.
The upper part where is the stand itself is almost constructed by strong materials. In some of the examples you will find elegant curves which underline the contemporary silhouette. There are two major types if we are talking about height: The lower ones – they provide enough hidden storage options with drawers. The higher ones have several shelves and now drawers at all.
Well, it’s really hard to choose the vertical or horizontal type of a TV stand. You should have in mind the rest of the room’s interior, remember? If your furniture is low-in-height, then go for the low stands. This way you will achieve the perfect eye level to place the TV at. On the other hand, if you have moderate-in-height sofas and coffee tables – the vertical type of stands will be best for you.
