Bookcases are one truly classy and stylish element of interior design. When this element is used wisely from interior designers or decorators in order to create specific accents inside a particular room, the results can be breath-taking.
Today I have found some really inspirational bookcase design ideas and examples. Some of them can be easily applied in your home but others need to be made on demand.
Bookcase design and shapes
As you will see from the images in the collection here, there are many available shapes and sizes. Personally, I really like the straight and classic shapes that can be found in masculine room or library. However, here you will find also some very interesting ideas of applying bookcases on round or corner walls as well as some truly fantastic walls entirely covered with shelves.
You will also be able to see some attractive ideas with bookcases that have glass doors. I really like these idea since these doors can keep your books and other decorations save from dust or moisture.
Bookcase design application
Well, bookcases are not only for storing books. You can place several different decorative items there, like artifacts from your journeys around the world, interesting family photos, objects that bring certain memories in your mind.
As for the room of application. Well, it is certain that you won’t find them in the bathroom, kitchen or front porch. All other areas are suitable for placing a bookcase. One of the best examples show that they perfectly fit into home libraries, living rooms, dining rooms, lounge corners, staircases, bedrooms, hallways. I think that the best thing is apply some of the bookcase design ideas at your staircase or hallway since these areas usually are being left without any type of decoration. And what a better placed for a bookcase that their walls?
In a recent photo I was really impressed with a particular idea. SO, there was this traditional American two storey house and its staircase. When taking the stairs and leaving the first floor your come upon the landing between the first and the second levels. And there was this beautiful window with soft lounge just in front of it at the level of the ledge. Two cushions on both sides and above the cushions, at the walls in the window’s niche, there were two built-in bookshelves with several authors in them. It was an amazing lounge corner separated on the staircase landing!
