Loft Beds Design Ideas For Small Rooms
Posted by: Founterior , January 8, 2015

If you have one of those sweet memories from your childhood when you have played in your room and used the stairs to climb on the second level of your lovely bed, then you probably remember the modern trend of loft beds. Nowadays they are also widely spread, despite the fact that they are not in the mainstream anymore. However, many families use loft beds because of their functional advantages. Because the sleeping mattress is lifted one level above the ground, there is additional space that you can use for many different things – like placing a computer desk below or a chest of drawers for storing clothes.
Some of the best beds are made of solid wooden material. Others have stainless steel frames. No matter what the design is, all of them are made carefully avoiding sharp edges that can cause harm to kids or adults. Having in mind their functional character, I think that a loft bed can be of great advantage when used in a small urban apartment or studio. On the other hand, they can be really helpful for those of you who live in small houses and your kids share the same room. This way, if you place a loft bed, you will be able to ensure all the needed separated areas for each of your children.

Loft beds with stairs

As I have already described above, the mattress of a loft bed is lifted one level above the ground so reaching it can be a real adventure if there weren’t the built-in stairs that usually come together with the entire set. I believe that kids simply love to climb the stairs because it seems like something extraordinary at home. And to be honest, kids like breaking the rules and feeling special.

Loft beds with storage

Finding enough place for storing your stuff becomes a real challenge nowadays. We buy and posses more and more stuff and we have to store somewhere our clothes, gadgets, widgets, books, etc. I really like the option of having drawers somewhere installed on the ground level of a loft bed. This means that you can reach your possessions at a glance. Just wake up in your bed, go down the stairs and pick up your clothes for the current day. Some companies provide really interesting solutions for storage. They invent different ways to hide the drawers which when pulled out make a really strong impression on someone who is not familiar with their location.
