The most amazing thing about interior design is that it can appear everywhere where a project is taken by a bunch of people who has a perfect taste for style and colors. Our example reveals an old abandoned Pittsburgh house that has been renewed into a contemporary home in pure eclectic apartment interior design style.
The couple that owns the place are always in good mood. Alissa Martin owns a small local clothing company, while Jeb Jungwirth is a psychologist. What a good combination, isn’t it? When they bought their future home, the didn’t hurry to make the changes and move in. They wanted to be careful with all the details in order to create the house of their dreams, where they would be able to spend the rest of their lives together. It took almost an year to finish the interior following the specific needs of each occupant. For example, Alissa wanted to have her bedroom in a modern-edged Moroccan style, while Jeb preferred to have an own corner where he would be able to spend hours with his precious books.
As a result, their love nest became a splendid colorful living space of brick beams and vibrant wall mural blended professionally with soft and cozy textiles and patterns. Now, let’s have a journey through the 2 600 square feet eclectic paradise with 2 bedrooms and bathrooms and a lot of interesting functional areas.
This is the lovely couple – at the left hand side there is Jeb Jungwirth and next to him on the right hand side is sitting Alissa Martin. We must say the interior of the place follows the beautiful pattern of great visual and spiritual consistency between the two of them.
Alissa helped the interior designers find the reclaimed wood floors in an old dance hall in far Poland, Europe. Mrs. Martin had a specific requirement. She wanted the wood floors to be left as they were so that the old aged vintage look and unique colors remained untouched. And her wish became true.
As for the kitchen interior, the designers left some original pieces form the old building. For example, the wooden ceiling beams are in their authentic state while the open shelving and the beautiful IKEA cabinets are new additions. The brilliant mix between vintage and contemporary contributes to the memorable eclectic atmosphere in the place.
The chandelier in the kitchen is an item that one must pay special attention to. It has been made of reclaimed wood and it brings fantastic rustic feelings. Just below it, there are modern kitchen cabinets that complete the eclectic experience. Have in mid the small and lovely window just behind the sink – some women’s dreams would be fulfilled if they could live here.
The wallpapers are selected in interesting floral and animal patterns.
A home wouldn’t be cozy without the sweet memories that need to be exhibited somewhere. This wooden console does the right job. It is a small piece of furniture that holds the key to the couple’s acquaintance. They spend hours around the console entertaining their guests and telling them stories about all journeys they had.
And we should present one honored member of the family – the 13 year old pug that loves living in such a wonderful eclectic home.
Fresh and elegant vibrant upholstery and an old retro recording players are those accents in the interior that define the eclectic appearance of the living room.
On the third floor you will come upon the bedroom in its original pine flooring. Have a look at the clever mixture of classic crystal chandelier, contemporary wardrobe and rustic elements. Breath-taking.
The bathroom follows the designer intention in the bedroom. Moroccan hand-printed ceramic floor is the starring element in this area.
The main bedroom has so private appeal. It looks like an old abandoned attic with some ultra modern elements in it. Pay attention to the reclaimed wood frames, the vintage chest of drawers and crystal chandelier as well as the comfortable and cozy bed setting..
Inside the bedroom the eclectic vibrations become more frequent and amazing.
A small shared office reveals the working areas in the home. One of the best Jungwirth’s works have been made here.
