Dark Kitchens
One of the biggest emerging trends set to shake up 2019 is the introduction of darker kitchen cabinetry. Black and navy are becoming a popular choice for kitchens as people are increasingly welcoming a darker, moody palette contrasting against light neutral work tops. Deep shades with matte and powdery finishes are one of the strongest style trends that are complementing chic and minimal spaces. This go-to on-trend colour is replacing greys and muted tones and turning heads as one of the leading trends set to rock 2019.
Brass Taps
Taps add that extra bit of pizzazz to a bathroom or a kitchen, almost like a piece of jewellery. Brass taps initially may make you think of antique rooms with dated fittings and fixtures, however brass taps have been given a complete new lease of life. On trend brass taps add a welcomed little bit of shine to concrete bathrooms or complement a classic bathroom’s finish. Kitchens too are set to welcome this trend, adding warm features to minimalist designs can often create an edgy, current elegance. Brass is one of the many materials on the rise, industrial or factory inspired features are a greatly received extra to accompany both kitchens and bathrooms. It is clear brushed brass is next year’s stand out metal, providing a luxurious finish.
Crushed Velvet
Brass and velvet are both luxuries that have now become staples and will indefinitely hold down their own for years to come. Interior design website Houzz.com looked for the some of the most noticeable search terms that were emerging, to highlight which trends are set to develop in the future, rather than the most popular searches. This way, a more accurate picture of styles that may be the next big thing are identified. ‘Velvet Sofa’ was one of the key search terms that became known and research shows retailers are also seeing the same patterns of interest.
Nude
Earthy neutrals, warm tones and ‘barely there’ nudes are replacing the grey palettes that most home owners have come to know and love. Sandy shades offer a sway of sophistication and are proving to be anything but minimalistic. RW Invest, property investment specialists, offer a wide range of buy to let investments across the UK, fitted with high tech appliances in light, airy and open kitchens. Cool, sleek designs met with nude designs are a major selling point for those wishing the put their own stamp on a property.
Grey, of course can be the perfect addition to your home if you require a plain wall, offering no distraction from your surroundings but make way for nude, the new warmer and friendlier town that goes by the names of ‘grey hints’, ‘Egyptian cotton’, and ‘mellow mocha’.
Concrete Bathrooms
Giving your home an industrial feel can often add a whole new dimension, one that causes its appeal to fly through the roof. Strong industrial feels make a great choice for bathrooms due to its strength and durability. Tough and practical but chic and super stylish is set to be so on trend for 2019.
Line Art
Line art refers to a simple yet clever form of art that has been compared to ‘an active line on a walk, moving freely’. Whatever your style, line art offers elegance, expression and something a little different in the form of abstract artwork. Art trends normally include bursts of colours and can often be more distracting than complimenting, particularly in small homes or homes with muted tones. Monochrome art tends to be a preferred choice as it fails to clash with other loud colours present in your home. Line art celebrates simplicity and is certainly a visual trend to watch out for in 2019.
