It is a big honor for every interior designer in the world to receive a task to decorate a client’s apartment in Manhattan. Usually such kind of apartments are amazing even before a single change is being made, but the fashionable trends are uncompromising when it is up to shifting styles at a blow. Stephanie Sabbe faced one unique minimalist apartment that she had the task to transform.
The client outlined that he prefers eclectic apartment interior design style, so he wanted just the same appearance for his apartment . The interior need to reflect the emotional character of the owner and his true nature so that when his guests enter the place they would say “This is your place!”
When she first took the project Sabbe knew that she had to put some cozy and welcoming elements in the place in order to make it a neat and elegant nest. The building itself is a massive construction by one of the most famous architects in the world but the interior was really raw by that time.
The image you see is the result of an unusual collaboration between an interior designer, her client and her client’s soulmate. Maybe the birds included as a decorative element on the wall represent the love nest of the couple.
In the living room the colorful palette becomes living its own life of brilliance. Everything here follows the soft grey nuances of the couch. It softness the environment and welcomes the occupants in an reborn world. A mirrored coffee table visually expands the place when reflecting sunlight. The installation and all the buying process were completed really easy. A few talks on the phone and several catalogues did a perfect job. Well, the result is not so simple, as far as you can see from the image above.
Living in New York provokes being different in any terms. The homes in this part of the world follow people lifestyles. In this specific one the soft textiles and fabrics, the casual ottomans and feminine colors in the interior create an unique atmosphere for every intelligent person. You need just a brief look over the apartment and you will definitely fall into love at a glance.
One of the greatest features in the place is the garden terrace that accommodates stylish patio furniture, ready to welcome the couple and their guest to hearted conversations with a bottle of fine white French wine. Do you already want joining them?
The second bedroom in the apartment presented some spatial challenges for Sabbe and her client. They wanted to use this room as an office for most of the year, but also wanted to keep the option of having it as a guest room. The problem was that they didn’t want to have the space overwhelmed by a bed that would only be used on occasion.
Now, lets go to one of the most interesting places in the apartment. The second bedroom needed to be transformed into an office that, on its turn, needed to be used as a guest room when needed to. Of course, it is not very proper to place a bed in the middle of the office, but Sabbe dealt with this hard situation. A bed, hidden in the wall only needs to be pulled out and the stylish modern office becomes a trendy and cozy guest room.
Instead of using a futon or pull-out sofa, Sabbe installed a murphy bed into the guest room’s wall. “Wasted space in Manhattan is always unfortunate,” she says.
Another look of the room reveals its secondary purpose. This takes the apartment in the category of ultra functional living spaces.
A clever move was to disguise the murphy bed into the same colorful pattern as the rest of the room. When lifted up, this piece of furniture becomes an invisible part so well blended with the surrounding interior.
And because the stylish eclectic apartment in New York missed a colorful accents, Sabbe decided to put some in the dining area. You can see the beautiful orange chairs with light textures that warm the atmosphere in the place and create a memorable environment. The chandelier is an easy find in the Chinatown of NY and it is a true inspirational note in the interior.
The dining table itself has a mirror effect that underlines the eclectic touch in the place. A gorgeous zebra rug stands below the dining piece of furniture and fulfills the desire of modern designer solutions within the cozy aspect of life.
Eclectic, stylish, simple and elegant. This is the master bedroom. In the background we can see a wallpaper of pale patterns that adds depth in the visual perception of the room. The bed set is simply astonishing. Please, don’t be jealous.
Do you find any similarities between the wallpaper used here, in the bathroom, and the one from the office(guest) room? Of course, here the main color is fresh apple green. The graphic patterns build the visual identity of the gorgeous eclectic apartment in New York completing the interior design of the place as a coherent sequence of logical emotions represented by designers lines, materials and furniture arrangement.
