Something borrowed, something new. Brodecky house relates to its context through scale, roof form and texture. In contrast to its surrounding is the extrovert act of opening the internal space to the external environment, capturing the view of the Australian suburbs. Its silhouette draws a new figure on Lawson St skyline. Atlas Architects is the brainchild of Aaron Neighbour and Ton Vu, the former of which declares a strong passion for environmental design. One of the great things about the firm, however, is that they’re one of the best architectural firms in Melbourne even if you ignore this sustainable focus altogether.

PROJECT COMPLETED, yay. A rendered masonry wall detailed with stone, glass and metal. The client’s brief was to design a fence for their existing beach house that would enhance security, privacy and the house itself in its context. A design that would be functional, but also elegant, in keeping with the existing house, constructed in 1994. #moniabassoarchitects #architecture #design #fencedesign

#6. Architected

On the drawing boards- sketch design for a new project in Brunswick. A small workers cottage gets a modern transformation. Whilst no heritage overlay exists on the site, the cottage at the front is just too cute to demolish! The new house is entirely concealed behind the existing roofline. This project has been super tricky to get a double storey house to fit within the confines of the planning boundaries whilst still appearing as a single storey cottage from the street. This one goes in for Town Planning next week…. fingers crossed! ??

A post shared by Stewart Brooks (@architected_studio) on Aug 29, 2019 at 9:35pm PDT

Architected is one of the great architect firms in Melbourne for those seeking highly personalized, one-on-one extension and small renovation services. They refuse large-scale work (such as multi-residential properties) but don’t mistake that for a lack of ambition. Architected’s designs are nothing short of stunning, and their extensions appear seamless.
