How to Choose a Kitchen: 7 Tips And Use Professionals

Posted by: Founterior , September 13, 2020

Seven clear tips from professionals on how to choose a kitchen and how to use the cunning manufacturers.

Decide in advance on the number of family members and the floor area. Everything else has already been decided for you and a specific list has been compiled, further in the text technical information and design optional chips.

7 useful tips on choosing a kitchen

“Professionals” may advise how to choose a kitchen, but often they are interested in increasing the amount of the check. But not all expenses make sense.

  1. Order a kitchen from local producers like Palm Beach Kitchen Remodeling. The competition in this market is wild, and everyone has long used quality equipment and materials. If you order from abroad, just overpay for $/hour to European workers and for delivery. The quality will not be better.
  2. The drawers are made of chipboard, MDF facades, laminated chipboard for wood (other variants look terrible live, wood – cool) or artificial stone (much more expensive).
  3. The apron or glass or split into 1.5-2 m2 of steep tiles (do not dare to use a white fugout for grout tiles on the apron).
  4. The best color of kitchen facades is white gloss. It is almost magically practical – you can’t see the dirt on it at all.
  5. Upper drawers are better to plan with the usual swing opening – hinges with a door closer in this version will cost only 1.5-3$ piece. Lifting mechanisms from above are much more expensive, and do not give advantages.
  6. Don’t forget to think how to open the refrigerator door – it should open from the working area. Seriously, the refrigerator doors are being moved, think about it and do it otherwise you will suffer.
  7. Start by walking through the kitchen manufacturers to order, but do not stick to them. Use them as consultants and to make free kitchen designs. Choose whom to order from after the three offices reviewed at least.

Material for the kitchen which is better

4 basic materials:

  • Solid wood
  • Chipboard
  • MDF
  • Multiplex

Solid wood is the most expensive and delicate material. It is made of solid wood and therefore relatively soft, i.e. it is easy to scratch. Often completely mediocre used especially in the classical style, where MDF would look exactly the same, but cheaper and more durable. It may look very cool in modern styles like loft, when used without friezes and similar, but such kitchens are just space.

Chipboards are in fact glued and compressed chips. It is a cheap and durable material, but it is afraid of temperature and moisture. In the kitchen, it is used for the frame of cabinets or facades. Although it is too gentle for facades, but cheap.

MDF boards are created by pressing fine wood chips, almost sawdust. Further they are impregnated with special resin, which makes the material strong and waterproof. Thanks to this, MDF is stronger than chipboard and solid, it is not afraid of moisture, many times less toxic than chipboard and generally cool, but it costs more chipboard (but less solid).

Multiplex is made of natural wood, but cheaper than solid wood. The production technology is to glue thin layers of wood together. Up to 5 strips of wood 4 mm thick are used to create high-quality board. It is an ecological material resistant to steam, moisture and temperature drops. Although it is used less and less in the production of kitchens, as other materials are becoming better and it does not withstand competition.
