Ideas to Choose the Right Paint Color for Each Room

Posted by: Founterior , October 24, 2018
Painting can instantly change the look of your house. Paint is available in different sheens, such as latex and oil. Latex paint is commonly preferred because it is long lasting and easy to clean. It is fade resistant and causes less blistering of paint.

Latex paint is always recommended for household uses and walls. Oil-based paint is suitable for prime wood trims and moldings. It can seal knots and stains from wood than latex paint. It takes longer to dry than latex paints. Make sure to hire Master Painters to paint your house flawlessly.

Carefully Choose Sheen

Keep it in mind that glossier paint is easy to clean. A room with high traffic or a house with children needs high gloss sheen because the walls of these rooms can easily get the grease. Walls with glossy paints will be easy to clean with a wet sponge. You can choose a glossier paint for your kitchen and a playroom. High gloss can be useful for trims to give them a nice finish.

For your bathroom and kitchen, you can choose semi-gloss paint to wash your walls quickly. This paint is cheaper than glossier finish. A matte or flat paint can be a good choice for walls with several imperfections. The great sheen to hide flaws is eggshell. It is easy to wash and smooth to touch.

How to Choose Paint Colors?

If you want to sell your house, you should choose between off-white and white color. It will allow a buyer to cover the walls with his/her favorite color quickly. If you are painting your house to change its look, you can consider these suggestions to pick a color for paint:

These colors look good n bathroom and bedroom. Feel free to overlap the shades of your favorite colors. For example, choose a dark color for wall and choose a different tone from a similar color scheme. You may layer these colors by selecting a light green shade as your basecoat and do the faux painting with darker green overlap.

  • Some good light colors are soft yellows, pinks, lavenders and blues for the feeling of restfulness and tranquility in your room. Lighter shades of warm or cool colors are good for a calm ambiance of your room. You can do some experiments with accessories and bedding to make your room appealing. For your kitchen, you can choose powdery blue or sage to increase tranquility.
