Are you surrounded by piles of extension cords and charging cables? Are you sick of tripping over them?
These days every single person owns a ton of electronic devices: cell phones, cameras, laptops .etc. Each of one comes with their own charger, making managing cables a real headache. Our dependence on electrical equipment invades both our lives and our living space. Konrad Giersz, a Brooklyn based product designer has come up with an innovative and fun solution to the problem: the Corder.
A simple add-on to your regular outlet cover, The Corder is a multi-functional outlet organizer that can easily be installed on any American outlet and light switch to manage tangled extension cords, chargers on your wall, or provide a non destructive storage hook on that light switch by the door.
The Corder is a very simple and inexpensive product. Each one is cut out of a sheet of steel, bent in two places and powder coated. Steel was selected as primary material due to the fact that it guarantees a long lasting object that will look great for years to come. The use of this material also helps to enable and ensure a quick, efficient production process.
The Corder was developed with special consideration to renters, in that it’s installation is completely nondestructive. It does not require the drilling of new holes in your walls nor any additional hardware besides what’s already on your electrical outlet. It only takes a minute and a screw driver to install and/or remove it. So once an apartment rental lease is up just take the Corder off the wall and move it to a new apartment. No harm done to walls means less effort than the standard painting, spackling, and retouching necessary upon moving.
The Corder not only serves to organize messy piles of cords, but also creates a convenient shelf for charging cell phone, hanging keys or stashing your bills. Have you ever had to leave your phone charging on the floor because the charger cable wouldn’t reach the nearest table? Well, that will not be an issue any more! Simply plug in your phone and rest it safely on top of Corder.
Not only is the Corder’s functionality great, but it also can be used to add a fresh pop of color to otherwise boring walls. Make the spaces you inhabit more fun and add a graphic statement with three bright colors: orange, pink, and green. For those who do not want it to distract from decor, there is a white option. For the especially bold, the Corder is also available in black. All options look great!
