TAPIO ANTTILA
The opportunities of the Finnish wood provides and its transformation into modern shapes through the use of traditional crafts is what intrigues the designer Tapio Anttila, Evidence of this are the Kuvio and Tuohi collections, which he designed for Showroom Finland. Before setting up his own studio the Fin gained experience working for the teams of established companies. While working for RES Architects Oy, he was the chief interior architect for big projects such as Helsinki Vantaa Airport. Later he designed furniture for public spaces for Isku Oy.
Today, as a freelance designer, his interests are vast -from accessories, such as trays, to furniture collections and wall elements. His ideas have been brought him Design Plus, Good Design, Fennia Prize and Adex Award, and his products are offered all over the world. Products of companies such as Adi, Ann Idstein, Isku, Koskisen, Lundia, Laattapiste, Selka, Showroom Finland, Vepsalainen and Woodnotes wear the signature of Tapio Anttila.
